Catherine Philbin is a multi-faceted communications and marketing senior executive with international experience and expertise specializing in the intersection of sports, digital media and entertainment for prestigious brands including the Olympics, Los Angeles Dodgers, Major League Soccer, American Idol, The X Factor, CHANEL and LVMH.

She is a proven leader of sports-focused PR, corporate communications and integrated marketing campaign teams and strategies which generate positive media coverage and digital engagement that define and support brand values.

In her current role with the International Olympic Committee’s global Olympic Channel, Philbin is responsible for developing strategic communications and promotional plans that uphold the integrity of the Olympic values and contribute to greater digital performance, increased user engagement, strengthen partner relationships and long-term growth.

Primary initiatives have provided promotional support for platform’s coverage, content and digital engagement for tentpole events and programming including the Olympic Games in Rio, PyeongChang, Buenos Aires and Lausanne and publicity campaigns for the award-winning sports documentary Five Rings Films collection.

Previously, Philbin served as head of communications for NBC’s Universal Sports Network where she was responsible for managing the overall public relations strategy and marketing communications activity for the multi-platform Olympic sports network in the U.S. Previous roles include positions with FremantleMedia, Major League Soccer, the Los Angeles Dodgers and with sports and lifestyle PR firm Taylor Communications.

Philbin earned her MBA from the University of Maryland, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Southern California’s prestigious Annenberg School for Communication.
